An in-house physician recruiter is usually an
executive level employee of the hospital, medical group or healthcare
system that he or she represents. In-house physician recruiters
are typically highly respected professionals that may hold the title of
manager, director, vice president or even administrator. They
differ a great deal from traditional "headhunter" or "fee-based"
recruiters. Typically, in-house recruiters know their
organization's particular opportunities very well. In addition,
they often live in the same town where the practice is based.
While many in-house recruiters appear to be representing
large organizations, chances are the organization is simply providing a
public service by assisting growing practices in their community and
outlying areas find new associates and partners.
In-house physician recruiters are a very select group
of people. As a matter of fact, there are probably few than 1,000
of these healthcare professionals nationwide. Here are just a few
of the reasons to work with in-house physician recruiters in finding a
new or first practice... They are motivated to make a good match for the
practice that they represent. If they do not have an opportunity
for you, they are often acquainted with other in-house recruiters that
may be able to help you. In-house recruiters can introduce you to
the people you need to know in starting a new practice...like realtors,
bankers, referring physicians, schools, potential employers for your
spouse, etc.
Many in-house physician recruiters in Illinois belong
to a non-profit professional organization call the Illinois Staff
Physician Recruiter's Network. You will find a directory of these
in-house physician recruiters at

opportunity job postings at the ISPRNet.org Physician & Health Online
